Aura Noir were the first signings to the Tyrant Syndicate label - an imprint of Peaceville Records - founded byNocturno Culto of Darkthrone, with "The Merciless" being the label's first release.

On March 26, 2005 Carl-Michael Eide fell (jumped?) from a fourth floor building. He was hospitalized for several months, but is already playing guitar again. It also appears that he will not be playing drums on any Aura Noir albums in the future.
